嫌がる女児に無理矢理ピアスを開ける
海外のショッピングモールでは、アクセサリーショップで幼い子どもたちがピアスを開ける姿をよく目にする。ピアスを開けるのは自分の意思だったり宗教上の理由だったりと人それぞれだが、今、イギリスのショッピングモールで撮影されたこちらの動画が警察によって調査されているという。

🎥 Shocking footage has emerged of a screaming tot being held down by her mum and gran while her ears are pierced in a busy shopping centre.
At one stage, one of the older woman pins the little girls ears back as a staff member approaches with the piercing gun and the child pleads “No.No.”
Earlier she seems to be yelling “Mummy. Get off” at she struggles to break free and another woman who appears to be a supervisor stands by cooly observing the procedure.
The boss clasps her hands and crooks one foot behind the other as she stares down at the child being floored so the painful procedure can be carried out.
The clip, recorded at the Meadowhall Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, has left viewers outraged after it was filmed by a teenage bystander on Sunday afternoon.
The petrified girl is being held down by a man and woman who appears to be her parents, as she screams in terror.
She is seen struggling to break free as the piercing gun is applied to her first lobe. The couple then change position with the woman holding the girl’s head as the second lobe is pierced.
All the time the girl is heard screaming “Ow. Ow. Get off. Get off me.”
At the end of the procedure, the piercer says “All done” and the little girl promptly bursts into floods of tears.
The camera pans to show shoppers passing by the shop windows just around the corner.
One young lad is even seen retrieving his skateboard, glimpses what is happening, but then beats a hasty retreat.
The mother who posted her 14-year-old daughter’s video footage from later commented on line: “Meadowhall – absolutely disgusting behaviour from you staff yesterday afternoon in your Lovisa store.
“Advising grandmother and mother of a young girl how to restrain her and hold her down so they could pierce her ears despite her screaming and pleading.
“The poor child fought until she ended up on the ground. Your staff should have refused to be part of this.
“This is abuse. Thankfully, my 14 year old daughter recorded this as evidence upon hearing me state I was reporting them.
“To this girl’s family – you should be ashamed. This child’s voice is valid. It should have been heard. It should have been respected.”The person filming claimed the 30 second clip was “just a fraction” of the girl’s ordeal, which lasted for ten minutes.
Lovisa number went to answer service when they were approached for comment.
South Yorkshire Police in a statement said:
“We are aware of a video circulating on social media of a child having their ears’ pierced at a store in Meadowhall on Sunday 17th October.PC Craig Crew of the Meadowhall policing team said: “We have watched this footage and understand why many viewers find it concerning. My team and I are now carrying out enquiries with the staff at the store to understand the full circumstances of what happened.

10月17日、英サウス・ヨークシャー州シェフィールドのショッピングモール『メドウホール』にあるアクセサリーショップで目撃されたのは、泣き叫ぶ女児の姿である。そして、抵抗する女児を大人二人が押さえつけ、ショップスタッフが無理矢理ピアスを開けているのだ。
動画が拡散され批判殺到
この動画がソーシャルメディアで共有されると、瞬く間に拡散され「児童虐待ではないか」という批判の声が続出することとなった。そして、ネット上での懸念の声を受け、サウスヨークシャー警察は当時の状況について把握するために現在ショップスタッフらへの聞き込みをおこなっているとのことだ。
ショップ側も今回の出来事を非常に重く受け止めているとのことだが、スタッフや顧客らのプライバシーを守るために現時点ではこれ以上のコメントを控え、警察の調査に協力しているという。
問題となった動画には1600件ものコメントが寄せられ、「児童虐待でショップ側も起訴されるべき」「明らかに彼女は嫌がっていた、子供の意思を尊重して！」『血液検査のとき娘を同じように抑えたけれどピアスは違うでしょ」「保護者は行動を恥じるべき」と、嫌がる女児に無理矢理ピアスを開けさせた保護者とショップスタッフを批判する声が相次いでいる。
